1. Who we are
Warrimoo ("we", "us", "our") is an independent app studio based in Port Macquarie, New South Wales, Australia. We build pet-care apps for dogs and cats, and we operate the website at warrimoo.net (the "Site").
This policy explains what information is (and isn't) collected when you use our Site and our apps, and what choices you have. We take a deliberately minimal approach: the less of your data we hold, the less can ever go wrong with it.
2. At a glance
- Our apps store your data on your device. We do not run accounts, cloud sync or app servers, and we cannot see your pets' records.
- We don't use advertising or analytics SDKs in our apps, and no ad or analytics trackers on our website.
- We only receive personal information if you send it to us, for example by emailing support.
- Backups and reports are files you create and control. Where you store or send them is up to you.
3. Our website
The Site is a static website. It has no login, no contact forms, no comment system and no cookies set by us.
Hosting
The Site is hosted on GitHub Pages, a service of GitHub, Inc. Like most web hosts, GitHub may collect technical information from visitors, such as IP addresses, for security and operational purposes. We do not have access to identifying visitor logs. See the GitHub Privacy Statement for details.
Fonts
The Site loads typefaces from Google Fonts. When your browser requests these font files, Google receives the technical details of that request (such as your IP address and browser type). See the Google Privacy Policy.
If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include. We use it only to reply and to improve our apps, we don't add you to any mailing list, and we don't share it with anyone.
4. Our apps: the general approach
All Warrimoo apps follow the same privacy principles unless an app's listing clearly states otherwise:
- Offline-first: the app works without an internet connection. Your data is stored locally on your device.
- No accounts: you don't register, sign in, or give us your name or email to use the app.
- No data transmission to us: we operate no backend servers for app data. Pet records, health entries, notes and settings never reach us.
- No advertising and no third-party analytics: we don't embed ad networks or behavioural analytics SDKs.
- Crash reports: your device's operating system (Google or Apple) may offer to send crash diagnostics to the platform and, in aggregated form, to us. This is controlled by your device settings, not by our apps.
5. TreatMyPet specifics
TreatMyPet helps you manage pet medications, care reminders and health records. The information you enter (pet profiles, photos, medication schedules, dose logs, weight and health readings, seizure records, vet visit notes and insurance details) is stored only on your device in the app's local database.
A note on "pet data": records about your pet (like a vaccination date) are generally not personal information about you. But some entries you make, such as your vet's contact details, your notes and your insurance information, can be. We treat the whole database with the same care: it stays on your device, under your control.
If a future version of TreatMyPet adds any online feature (for example, optional cloud backup), it will be opt-in, clearly explained, and this policy will be updated before release.
6. Device permissions
Our apps request only the permissions they need to function:
- Notifications: to deliver dose and care reminders you schedule. Reminders are generated locally on your device.
- Photos / camera (optional): to add a photo to a pet's profile. Photos stay in the app's local storage.
- Files / storage (optional): to save or restore backup files you create, and to export reports.
You can decline or revoke any permission in your device settings; related features will simply be unavailable.
7. Backups, exports and sharing
You can export your data as a backup file, and create shareable reports (for example, a health summary for your vet). These files are created on your device at your request. Once you save a file to a location of your choice or share it (by email, messaging or any other channel), that copy is governed by the service you sent it through and the people you sent it to. We never receive it.
8. Third-party services
- App stores: if you install our apps via Google Play or the Apple App Store, Google or Apple process your purchase/install under their own privacy policies. We receive only aggregated, non-identifying statistics (such as install counts).
- GitHub Pages and Google Fonts for the Site, as described in section 3.
- Links: our Site and apps may link to external websites (for example, a vet association or an insurer). Their privacy practices are their own, so check their policies.
9. Children's privacy
Our Site and apps are intended for general audiences and are not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). Because our apps don't collect personal information and send it to us, we do not knowingly hold personal information about children. If you believe a child has emailed us personal information, contact us and we'll delete it.
10. Data retention and deletion
- App data: stays on your device until you delete it. You can delete individual records in the app, clear the app's data in your device settings, or uninstall the app. Remember that backup files you've exported are separate copies; delete those wherever you saved them.
- Email: we keep support correspondence only as long as needed to help you and improve the apps. You can ask us to delete it at any time.
11. Your rights
We handle personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights under laws such as the EU/UK GDPR or the California Consumer Privacy Act, including rights to access, correct, delete or restrict processing of your personal information.
Because we hold almost nothing, exercising these rights is usually as simple as emailing us. We'll respond to any request at support@warrimoo.net. If you're unsatisfied with our response, you can complain to your local privacy regulator; in Australia, that is the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
12. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update the effective date at the top of this page and, for significant changes affecting an app, mention it in that app's release notes. Material changes will never quietly reduce your privacy: features that move data off your device will always be opt-in.
